Gas Diffusion Layers (GDLs)
GDLs account for 40-60% of the cost of a fuel cell. But thanks to our patented manufacturing process, the “GDL-eCoCell” is very competitively priced, without environmentally harmful materials and with great flexibility to adapt the product technically. Our prices are lower than those of our competitors thanks to the use of renewable and environmentally friendly materials, where up to 50% of the mass used for manufacturing is sourced from local suppliers. Water is the main solvent used in their manufacture, ruling out the use of polluting organic solvents (reusing most of the water), which reduces the environmental impact of this emerging technology. Nor are difficult-to-obtain elements used in the synthenics.
- GDL-eCoCells can be produced from 0.25 to 0.5 mm thick to satisfy any specific application - Thermal conductivity show values in the range from 0.2 to 0.3 W·m-1·K-1. These values are comparable to the obtained from competitor GDLs, which ranges from 0.19 to 0.30 W·m-1·K-1. - Electrical conductivity was from 5000 S/m to 12000 S/m. These values are much higher than the measured for two other GDLs , which ranges from 3800 S/m to 4500 S/m - Porosities from 70% to 80% have been produced under different GDL-eCoCell grades, which have been produced under different conditions
